Theme

At the core of my work is an exploration of familiarity, memory, and the everyday. These themes are expressed through intricate line drawings, screen printing, and painting, with a focus on visualizing personal narratives and cultural legacies. Recently, I have been drawn to portraying the storylines of people who resonate with me—whether they are individuals whose lives intersect with mine or cultural music icons that have shaped my experiences. My intention is to represent the way memories overlap and shape us, weaving together nostalgia and identity. Through this process, I merge rendered figure and portrait studies with abstracted elements to create a visual narrative that reflects both the fluidity and permanence of memory and legacy.

Process and Materials
My creative process is highly technical, grounded in a methodical approach to image-making. I begin by creating a physical collage of images—visual fragments that represent key moments, sentimental symbols, or significant aspects of the subject I am exploring. From this collage, I draw a continuous line, which serves as the foundation for the screen printing process. These line drawings become the core of the work, which I then screen-print and layer to create textured backgrounds. The final stage of my process involves painting, where I build up mosaic-like pieces of color, detail, and portraiture on top of the printed layer. I seek balance and harmony in this final act of painting, allowing boldness to emerge against the intricate details of the background. It’s important to me that my works continue to offer new discoveries over time, inviting viewers to revisit them months or even years after acquiring them, revealing subtle layers and hidden moments that enhance the personal connection between the work and its new home.
